ARE Agreement

I/We have elected to enrol my/our son in the Andrean Residential Experience (“ARE”) Program offered by St. Andrew’s College (the “School”).  I/We understand that I/we will not be asked to sign another ARE Program Agreement (the “ARE Agreement”) for the remainder of the academic years that my/our son remains in the ARE Program.  Rather, the terms of the ARE Agreement, as may be amended by the School from time to time, will continue in effect as long as my/our son remains in the ARE Program.  The School agrees to notify the undersigned in writing (or electronically) of any material changes made to the ARE Program or Agreement prior to or concurrent with the School’s re-enrolment process each year.  The School will maintain a copy of the ARE Program Brochure and Agreement on its online and in the Business and Admission Offices for my/our access and review.

Payment of ARE Program Annual Contributions:
I/We understand that the ARE program contributions, School match and interest rate amounts will be reviewed by the School each year.  I/We will be advised of any changes to these amounts prior to the December Break of each subsequent year.

In the first year I/we execute the ARE Agreement, my/our son’s account will be charged the annual contribution amount for that academic year upon execution.

In years after I/we execute the ARE Agreement, my/our son’s account will be charged the annual contribution amount for the next academic year on January 1 of the current academic year.

Withdrawal Policy:
I/We and the School agree that I/we can withdraw my/our son from this ARE Agreement and Program on notice in accordance with the following procedures.  The Cancellation Notice must be (a) dated, (b) state the student’s name (c) state my/our intent to withdraw (d) be signed by the undersigned and (e) be received and acknowledged in writing by the School’s Admission Department.

Upon withdrawal from the Program, the School will credit my/our son’s account for all my/our contributions paid in full plus interest.  Once I/we have withdrawn from the ARE Program, I/we understand that if I/we decide to reenrol our son in the ARE Program, I/we forfeit the ability to make any contributions for the years my/our son was enrolled at the School but was not enrolled in the ARE Program.

Priority of Documents:
I/We acknowledge that the ARE Program Brochure is incorporated by reference into this ARE Agreement, including any amendments thereto. For the purposes of resolving any conflict or contradiction within the main body of this ARE Agreement and any of the foregoing documents or any other documents incorporated by reference herein, unless otherwise expressly provided for in this ARE Agreement, the order of priority of interpretation to resolve any such conflict or contradiction of relevant terms and conditions (but only to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency) shall, in descending order, be as follows:

  1. Highest – this ARE Agreement;
  2. Next Highest – the ARE Brochure; and
  3. Lowest – any other document incorporated by reference herein.

Counterparts and Electronic Execution:
This ARE Agreement may be executed in counterparts (including by means of electronic signature pages) and all such counterparts taken together will constitute one and the same Agreement. Delivery of an executed counterpart of this ARE Agreement by electronic means will be equally as effective as delivery of an original executed counterpart of this Agreement.

THIS AGREEMENT shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario. Furthermore, it is agreed that any legal proceedings commenced, will be done so only in the Province of Ontario and I/we hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario.

If parents are married, the parent(s) assuming financial responsibility must sign this ARE Program Agreement. If parents are separated or divorced, the custodial parent and the parent assuming financial responsibility for the student must sign this ARE Program Agreement. If the student is under the custody and care of a legal guardian(s), the guardian(s) assuming financial responsibility for the student must sign this ARE Program Agreement.

By clicking “SUBMIT” your ARE participation will stay in effect as long as your son remains enrolled at St. Andrew’s College. Your participation, year-to-year, will be automatically renewed unless you explicitly state your desire to be removed to a member of the Admission Department.
